One of the most beautiful scientific theories every devised, the Gaia Theory, was put forward by James Lovelock. One item the Gaia Theory explains is why Earth has just the right temperature and why it is maintained.

Here’s a thought. Venus and Earth have about the same amount of CO2 on their surface. Earth traps its CO2, in rock, water, and deep in the earth in hydrocarbons. Life itself is carbon storage, not just plants, trees, but you and me.

Venus is 800 degrees F.  A little warm for a weekend stroll.

Lovelock now says Earth can’t be saved. We’ve triggered runaway global warming. Oops.
